How does the free trial work?
Start Starter with a 30-day free trial — checkout takes a card but charges nothing up front. Billing kicks in after 30 days or once you've consumed your 3rd envelope allowance, whichever comes first. Cancel before then and you pay nothing; completed evidence remains downloadable while the workspace stays open, without any guarantee of legal validity or result.
What counts as an envelope?
An ordinary draft consumes one envelope when it is first sent for signature, however many people sign it. A corrected copy consumes one immediately when it is created. Ordinary drafts you never send remain free, and unused envelopes don't roll over.
What happens after I subscribe?
For a new customer, checkout provisions a workspace automatically. Stripe returns you to the dashboard and a welcome email with a single-use sign-in link follows. If this email already has a DrakonSign account, do not buy through another public checkout link: sign in and use Account → Manage subscription, or contact support if that account has not yet been linked to billing. API keys are created deliberately from Account → API keys; we never email one.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, and you don't need to ask us. Account → Manage subscription opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can switch plan or cancel yourself; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for. No lock-in, no cancellation fees. Completed evidence remains downloadable while the workspace stays open, without any guarantee of legal validity or result.
Are the audit trail and certificates extra?
No. The trust layer — hash-chained audit trail, completed signed artifacts, a certificate of completion for every completed envelope, and live chain verification — is included on every plan. It's the product, not an add-on.
Will DrakonSign work for my documents?
Ordinary business paperwork — NDAs, supplier and customer terms, consultancy agreements, offer letters and internal approvals — may suit a simple electronic signature, which is what DrakonSign produces. Some categories are excluded outright: deeds and anything executed as a deed, HM Land Registry transfers, wills, lasting powers of attorney, and anything a statute, regulator or counterparty requires in wet ink or as an advanced (AES) or qualified (QES) signature. Regulated or high-value documents need independent advice first. The suitability page lists all of it in plain English; it is information about the product, not legal advice, and meeting your document's formalities remains yours to do.
Where is my data held?
The application and database run in London (UK) on Fly.io, and live documents are held in a separate Tigris bucket configured as single-region London (UK) — all encrypted in transit and at rest. Backups are the deliberate exception: encrypted 30-day backups use globally distributed Tigris storage, in a different bucket with a different credential, so we will not tell you your data never leaves the UK.
